Golden Butter Cake
The gold in our Green and Gold Green Bay Packer's Cake comes from a golden butter cake. It's the perfect color!

Ingredients

unbleached all-purpose flour

baking powder
¼
teaspoon
salt

cup
milk

teaspoon
pure vanilla extract
½
c
unsalted butter,
room temperature
1
c
sugar
2
eggs,
room temperature
1
teaspoon
yellow food coloring
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease 1 9 inch round cake pan.
In a medium bowl mix flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
Mix milk and vanilla in a small bowl. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream butter until light. Add sugar and cream until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add dry ingredients, alternately with milk, beginning and ending with the dry mixture. Mix until moistened.
Add food coloring and mix until the color is even.
Poor batter into prepared pan.
Bake at 350ºF for 30-35 minutes, or until the cake is springy to the touch and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing from pan and cooling completely on a wire tack.
